  • What makes Fashion for Good-Plug and Play accelerator different to the others?

We have built a unique eco-system of brands, retailers, manufacturers, investors and mentors to enable you to fast-track your idea, and move your company to the next level.

  • How long is the accelerator programme?

The programme is 3 months long and is based around 5 key focus weeks (every 3 weeks). During these weeks we organise workshops, mentoring sessions and meetings with our partners. Extra events are also run outside of these focus weeks, but they are not mandatory. The programme culminates with our Demo Day, during which you pitch in front of a broad audience of industry leaders and investors.

  • What is offered during our programme?

We offer deal flow opportunities with our corporate partners, mentorship from our experts, pitch polishing sessions, VC and business angel intros and an excellent community co-working space.

  • Will Plug and Play invest in my startup?

Not necessarily, we only invest in a selected number of startups. This process usually starts after graduating from our programme. If and when we decide to invest in a company, each investment happens on a case-by-case basis with a 'no cookie-cutter investment model', meaning we take into consideration each company’s unique valuation and investment terms reflective of the risks and opportunities involved.

  • How much does the programme cost to take part in?

The programme is free for the startups to join. We do not ask you for equity either.

  • Does my startup match the minimum requirements to apply?

Our programme is open to earlier stage startups that are still in the idea / conceptualisation phase as well as startups that have moved beyond concept phase and already have a minimum viable product (MVP). At minimum, it is required that you have a legal entity and a promising team.

  • What happens to our startups after graduating from our programme?

As part of our alumni network, you have preferential access to deal-flows with new corporate partners joining our platform. You will also be invited to showcase your product at high-profile events, as well as be connected to our network of alumni.

  • Where is the Fashion for Good - Plug and Play accelerator?

Fashion for Good - Plug and Play is located in Amsterdam’s city centre (Rokin 102, 1012 KZ, Amsterdam) with direct access to tram network and 15 min walk to Amsterdam Centraal.

  • Is on-site presence mandatory for the whole 3 months?

You are more than welcome to relocate to Amsterdam for the programme and will be able to use the desk-space in our community office. If this is not possible, all we ask is for you to be present for the five focus weeks that occur throughout the 3 months.

  • Where will I live if I choose to stay throughout the 3 month programme?

There is plenty of accommodation to choose from. You can either live the full experience and stay around the beautiful canals of Amsterdam, or in the more affordable options a little further outside the city centre. We do not provide financial support for travel or accommodation, but we will do our best to help you find a place to suit you.

Application Process

  • How does the application process work?

The process starts online with our application form. Please tell us information about your team, your product, and the market you are in. The questions are geared to understand both the business and the team. We might contact you to get more information. Then, shortlisted candidates will be invited to pitch on stage in Amsterdam in front of our jury (Selection Day).

  • When can I expect to hear back from the application process?

We notify applicants one month before the Selection Day. Given the high number of applications we receive, we may only contact selected applicants.

  • When is the application deadline?

Our application process is open all year round, you can apply any time. We run two batches of the programme per year. Once an application has been submitted, we will review it and if successful, decide which batch will be right for you. Please note that the application review may take a little while longer if we are in the midst of running a programme.

  • How do you choose the companies selected for the programme?

The selection process is conducted alongside our Corporate Partners and we evaluate applications on several objective criteria. Please note that specific attention is given to the environmental and/or social impact of your company. We can guarantee that every application is given our full attention.

  • My startup is not based in the Netherlands, can I still apply?

Of course. We invite startups from anywhere in the world to apply. The programme will be directed in English and all our speakers have international profiles.
